Coco Polo/YC Chocolate is a company dedicated solely to making distinctive high cocoa chocolates without processed
sugars.

Our chocolate have been developed specifically with the natural community in mind.  The taste is, without question its main
feature, created for a safe and healthy enjoyment.

These sugar free confections are created without artificial colorings, flavors, preservatives or sweeteners to match or
exceed the finest sugar-sweetened chocolates in taste and texture.

History
Manufacturing of high quality sugar sweetened chocolates began in 1979 for a small retail store in Northern
California-each piece truly hand-stirred and hand-dipped into chocolate, delicately swirled on top displaying its signature
identification.  These chocolates were full of cocoa flavor and created with care.

The chocolate store business grew- more people came.  With them, came their growing concerns about the negative
health effects of sugar and also people who could not safely eat any foods with processed sugar, people with Diabetes.  
Our chocolates, if they were to address those concerns, needed to evolve into a more responsible treat.

In 1997, Coco Polo/YC Chocolate was created solely as a sugar free company, using the newly introduced natural
sweetener Maltitol.  This allowed us to concentrate on a product line addressing the growing demand for healthier
chocolate, all natural without the processed sugars, while maintaining chocolate's distinctive antioxidants and taste
enjoyment.  

Coco Polo/YC was the first U.S. company to manufacture an all natural sugar free chocolate for use exclusively in our
products.

As a result of our first exposure to the natural community at the Natural Products Show East and the NY Fancy Food Show,
our chocolates won the Best of Aisle awards in 1999 and 2000 by Gourmet Retailer Magazine at the New York Fancy Food
Show, was voted One Of The Hottest New Products by the N.A.S.F.T. (National Association for the Specialty Food Trade)
Magazine in Christmas 2000 and won second place in the Best Tasting Chocolate category competing against sugar
sweetened chocolates at the Natural Products Show East.

In the Fall of 2011, after over a decade of waiting for the government approval of Reb A (an extract of Stevia) and revising our
formulas many times to develop a pleasurable tasting chocolate with the most responsible and desirable of sweeteners
available, we now a line of 70% Cocoa dark chocolate bars sweetened with Stevia.  The bars have a full bodied natural
sweetness with taste characteristics belonging to noteworthy high cocoa chocolates, but, now liberated from processed
sugar. In March 2012 we added our 39% Cocoa milk bars sweetened with stevia - 6 new flavors to complement our dar
chocolate varieties.
